Regional Australia is changing, and with this transformation comes boundless opportunities to rethink what regional Australian means. Change is also bringing many challenges for our regions with population growth and jobs high on the agenda.
On Thursday 20 February 2020, the RAI will head to the Northern Territory (NT) for Regions Rising NT – part of our national roadshow where we use our evidence based research to present the facts, we bring key regional stakeholders together, and we work to change the narrative of regional Australia.
Recently NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner spoke about breaking the Northern Territory economy out of its boom-and-bust cycle – by creating jobs in the services sector – consistent, permanent and ongoing jobs.
The RAI is delighted Mr Gunner will be the keynote speaker at Regions Rising NT, where he will share his vision for the future of the Territory and critical transition that is underway.
The Territory is famous of thinking differently and campaigns like “Boundless Possible’’ provide the hope and vitality that supports a transformation as stated:
“To be a Territorian is to understand we’re not bound by tradition, we grow from tradition. It’s caring more about where someone is going…than where they’re from. And above all else, it’s knowing as we walk the road less travelled, together we’ll create our boundless possible.”
Join us as we delve into the key drivers that underpin social and economic transitions, such as employment, infrastructure, health, education and cultural vitality. Be part of the conversation that supports a new kind of future of regional NT.
